About the event
Amigos del Yunque Foundation and student organizations of the University of Puerto Rico, committed to the pursuit of social and environmental justice, would like to invite the public to the screening of "Gather". The UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda builds on the principle of “leaving no-one behind". In these difficult times and as the ill-named Columbus Day nears, we offer you an alternative space to reflect on the drivers of social-environmental inequities, and how individuals cope within the context oppressive environments and power-inequalities. Here we recognize that the colonization process in the Americas has created and maintains conditions where many groups have indeed been left behind. It is our hope to convey that our quest for a sustainable future requires recognizing such inequalities (wherever they may occur) and engaging in activities that lead to meaningful actions. This is a family event. See you there!
