SAFSF is excited to present a free online screening and discussion of "Gather," an intimate portrait of the growing movement amongst Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual, political, and cultural identities through food sovereignty while battling the trauma of centuries of genocide.First Nations Development Institute is co-producer of "Gather" and the film features many of First Nations' grantees and partners, as well as others who are making significant strides in advancing Native food sovereignty. Michael Roberts (Tlingit Nation), A'dae Briones (Cochiti/Kiowa), and Richard Elm-Hill (Oneida Nation) of First Nations will engage funders in a discussion following the screening. Grab your favorite movie snacks and beverages, and settle in for an illuminating journey on the path of revitalization and re-creation of Indigenous food systems in North America.This screening is a funder-only event but we encourage folks to watch with members of their households.
